Is there a healthier breakfast? Loaded with seeds and nuts, makes a wonderful beginning to a great day. And you can “personalize” it to your own liking.

As for some reason, most granolas available in shops are not gluten- free and gluten-free versions cost a little fortune, yet I refuse not to have it in my life, every week I make a big container of it. And today I am sharing with you the recipe I use, though, of course, you can use it as a base and add whatever seeds, nuts or dried fruit you like.

GRANOLA

500 g rolled oats

60 g sunflower seeds

60 g pumpkin seeds

120 g sesame seeds

250 g nuts (almonds, pecans, hazelnuts and walnuts)

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground ginger 

1 grated apple

125 g honey

80 g brown sugar

2 tbsp sunflower oil

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Transfer to a baking tray and bake for 30 min in 170 °C, until brown.

I love to have it with my favorite yogurt for breakfast but it also makes a great snack when you get a craving during the day. And there’s one more serious perk- it fills a house with a wonderful smell of roasted nuts.
