Too hot to blog

We’re counting days to our Hungarian-Polish holidays this year. Even though we have few more weeks to go, I feel one leg there already πŸ™‚ . I can’t focus on our daily routine, I don’t feel like cooking or cleaning, I even started packing. Girls are not themselves either. Anabel is jealous Rosie doesn’t have to go to school anymore, Rosie asks every day if today is the day we’re going to Hungary. Luckily, it’s much easier to wait when the weather is so merciful to us.

We took kids to Funderland for the first time ever. After the first ride on a jungle river, they didn’t want to go on anything even slightly above the ground. Even one of the workers couldn’t stop laughing at them when after sitting in a caterpillar mini roller coaster wagon and realizing that tracks went up and down they unstrapped themselves and run away with panic in their eyes. The best part to me was candy cotton. I know it’s practically cloud of sugar Β but I can’t control myself :-).

After two years of living in this house, we have only recently discovered this beautiful place just behind our estate. It’s so quiet, rural and green. And you can see an old Celtic cemetery just meters away.

New address and cliffs of Moher

DSC00556

We’ve been quiet on net since Easter but we’ve have a good reason for it. There’s been so much going on recently. First of all we moved to a new apartament, still the same city but different address. We really outgrew our old apartament and were in need for extra bedroom so after fast research, we found a two bedroom apartament with two bathrooms and a living room with a little kitchen. It’s not perfect but we have our bedroom for ourselves at last and that’s all that matters πŸ˜‰ Also, I love the view.

On the day of move, visited us Weronika (or as Anabel calls her- auntie Nika). She spent a week with us and it was a great week. I felt like on holidays myself, I didn’t bake nor cook that week. We visited cliffs of Moher together and Bunratty castle. These are some beautifull places in Ireland but we haven’t visited them since girls were born so I haven’t had a chance to show them to you. I have lots of photos which I want to share so today it’s going to be just Limerick and cliffs. I’ll save Bunratty for the next time.

Spedzila u nas tydzien i byl to naprawde fajny tydzien.

Let’s be honest, there’s not much to see in Limerick so we took like three photos in the city.

Cliffs, though, were magnificent. It was wonderful to be out of the city, surrounded by nature, rediscovering beauty of Ireland. If you’re planning on visiting them, get yourself some thick hat and a good jacket because it’s always soooo windy there. Totally worth seeing tough.

Jesli planujecie wycieczke nad klify, zaopatrzcie sie w dobra kurtke i gruba czapke bo odatlantycki wiatr powala z nog. Warto jednak sie wybrac.

As we don’t own a car,Β  we hardly ever get out of the city. But when it happens, it charges my batteries for a long time. I love nature and dream of a little (well, maybe not so little πŸ˜‰ ) house in a village, where I would spend my free time gardening, taking long walks and contemplating God’s creation. Doesn’t countryside clear your mind and make you peacefull and just happy?

So there they are: cliffs of Moher

Wiec oto sa: klify Moher

Laura(first from the right), who was our driver and a tour guide in one, took us to see st. Brigid’s well on te way back. I must admit that until then I had never even heard of st Brigid. Aparently, she is , along with st Patrick and st. Columbus, the most famous and popular saint in Ireland. On 31st of January, Irish used to put st Brigids straw crosses in their larders to prevent pucks from stealing cream and milk πŸ™‚ , because st Brigid is a patron of dairy products.

Laura( pierwsza z prawej), bedac naszym kierowca i przewodnikiem w jednym, zabrala nas w drodze powrotnej nad studnie sw Brygidy. Dawniej, 31 stycznia, Irlandczycy wkladali slomiane krzyze sw Brygidy do swoich spizarni by strzegly je przed chochlikami spijajacymi smietanke z mleka πŸ™‚ , sw Brygida bowiem jest patronka wyrobow mlecznych.

Birds, rain and statues

Yet another rainy afternoon destroyed our playground plans so as an alternative we took girls to feed swans and since we haven’t done it for quite a while, Anabel was very excited about it, especially that she got to try out her new peppa pig umbrella (or “pa pig rella” as she calls it πŸ™‚ ).

Kolejne deszczowe popoludnie zniszczylo nasze parkowe plany wiec postanowilismy zadoscuczynic je dziewczynkom zabierajac je nad rzeke by nakarmic labedzie, czego nie robilismy od dosc dawna. Anabel byla podekscytowana, zwlaszcza, ze mogla wreszcie wyprobowac swoja nowa parasolke peppa pig ( czy jak ona to mowi “pa pig rella” πŸ™‚ ).

During the trip, daddy tought her a new skill which is jumping into a paddle and leaving wet footprints on a ground. They practised it all the way back home. As you can see, while mommy teaches her preschooler singing, dancing, crafting and praying, daddy focuses on way more practicall skills like jumping and spitting (which actually became very usefull while toothbrushing πŸ˜‰ ).

Podczas wycieczki, tatus nauczyl ja nowej umiejetnosci a mianowicie skakania do kaluzy i pozniej zostawiania mokrych sladow na chodniku. Cwiczyli to cala drge do domu.

Well, Anabel definitely had a blast playing in paddles and feeding swans (which she call “duckies” and argues every time I try to correct her).

Anabel z pewnoscia swietnie sie bawila w kaluzach i podczas karmienia labedzi (ktore z uporem nazywala “duckies”(kaczuszki) i klocila sie za kazdym razem gdy probowalam ja poprawic).

But Rosie didn’t seem impressed one little bit with swans

She even tried to drive away πŸ˜‰

Probowala nawet odjechac πŸ˜‰

But eventually she cheered up a bit.

ale w koncu troszke sie rozchmurzyla.

We even had a little posing session with a nearby statues.

Nawet zrobilismy mala pozowana sesje przy pobliskich rzezbach.

I got into a romantic sort of mood and took photos of clouds and river. Sometimes Limerick can be a beautifull city πŸ™‚

Cale to “obcowanie z natura” wprawilo mnie w romantyczny nastroj i fotografowalam chmury i rzeke. Limerick potrafi byc piekny, gdy chce πŸ™‚

Sunny park

It would be a sin not to spend at least one afternoon in the park this week while the sun is still out and shining. I could take girls more often myself but with such a wild 2-year-old I just wouldn’t risk. I would probably end up loosing prom while running after Anabel or loosing Anabel while looking after Rosie. So we only go when daddy is available πŸ˜‰

Coming from a countryside, I know that the park is merely a poor substitute for nature but you know what they say :”When you don’t have what you like…”.Β  However it was wonderfull lying on grass surrounded by trees, watching children running arround, blowing bubbles and thinking how lucky I am πŸ™‚

Anabel made me laugh when she found a feather and noticing a flock of doves, decided to give it back to an owner. She run after birds shouting “Chodz!”(come) and “Czekaj!” (wait). She was a bit dissapointed they wouldn’t listen but soon she discovered that chasing birds was a great fun itself.

Anabel rozsmieszala mnie gdy znalazla piorko a zauwazywszy w poblizu sfore golebi, postanowila zwrocic je wlascicielowi.

In the meantine, Rosie was happy to have a ball all to herself.

And her sister’s sunglasses

No i na okulary sloneczne siostry

But it all stopped to matter when she discovered grass and flowers ,which we had to take out of her mouth all the time from then on.

Anabel also made some new friends

Anabel nawiazala takze nowe znajomosci

and took some time alone πŸ˜‰

i poczula potrzebe samotnosci πŸ˜‰

What a fun afternoon!

Oby wiecej takich dni!

Summertime

Do you feel it? Smells like summer. Smell of sun, river, sun lotion, blooming trees and flowers fills the air, the sun is grazing longing, naked skin and even though today is like everyday, I can’t release myself from summery- holiday feeling. In sun everything seems better, prettier, easier. In sun the world seems full of possibilities and opportunities. And even thouh other bloggers wrote about spring already long time ago, it seems like spring forgot about us this year but sent summer instead. Even if it’s irish summer, even if only for a short while, it’s here and it makes me happy. Veeery happy πŸ˜€

Czujecie? Pachnie latem. Zapach slonca, rzeki, kremu do opalania, kwitnacych drzew i kwiatow unosi sie w powietrzu, slonce muska steskniona, odkryta skore i choc dzis wyglada jak codzien, nie moge wyzwolic sie z urlopowo- wakacyjnego uczucia. W sloncu wszystko wydaje sie lepsze, piekniejsze, latwiejsze. W sloncu swat wydaje sie pelen mozliwosci i okazji.

And I’ve been attacked by willingness to redecorate interior, and I have already started a hunt for a flowery dress and I wish I had a garden to plant (perhaps I’ll grow some herbs on my windowsill instead). So much energy and a list full of plans and projects and problems seem somehow smaller.

I juz dopada mnie chec przemeblowywania i dekorowania wnetrz, i juz zaczelam polowanie na kwiecista sukienke i w ziemii by sie z checia podlubalo gdyby byl ogrodek (moze urzadze sobie jego namiastke w postaci parapetowych ziol). Energii tyle i pelna lista planow i projektow a problemy jakby mniejsze πŸ˜‰ Hej sloneczko, sloneczko!

Swans and a need for privacy

Since the weather has not allowed us recently to take Anabel to the playground, we had to find some new outdoor fun activities and believe me it is not too easy in a centre of a town like Limerick. Two days ago though, on the way to our friends, we went to the riverside to feed swans. Walking at the riverside and throwing bread to swans and seagulls was extremaly exciting for our little girl and is now our absolute favourite way of spending time together outside. Daddy was a bit less excited when he found birds poops on his jackets later on, even though they are supposed to bring luck πŸ™‚

Jednak dwa dni temu, w drodze do przyjaciol, zaszlismy nad rzeke by nakarmic labedzie.

They just kept coming:

Waiting for their turn:

Do szeregu! πŸ™‚

And this is where I found my little girl few minutes ago, taking a nap:

A tu odkrylam przed chwila moja rybke b ioraca drzemke πŸ˜€ :
